Burberry Group Plc, the British trench coat maker, reported sales in line with analysts' estimates as a boost in tourist spending on luxury goods in the United Kingdom after the Brexit referendum offset declines in its Asian business. But it was not enough to prevent a drop in revenues over the first six months as a whole, down 4% to £1.16 billion with currency effects stripped out. (more...)

The order from the country's Transportation Department bars owners from carrying on the phones or taking them in baggage during flights from 5pm United Kingdom time on Saturday. The ban by Qantas , Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Tiger airlines came into effect on Ocotober 16. Virgin "strongly advised" its passengers not to bring these devices to the airport when travelling. The Australian dollar edged higher against U.S. dollar on Monday as dollar dipped after investors took profit from recent dollar rally and on comments from Federal Reserve Vice Chairman Stanley Fischer, who said economic stability could be threatened by low-interest rates, but it was "not that simple" for the Fed to raise rates. Singapore Airlines had earlier said it would ban the mobile phone since October 16, as US regulators issued an emergency order on Friday that the device would be banned on all flights since Saturday noon.
