Pence, campaigning in Virginia, said Trump had called him late at night to congratulate him. Pence was largely seen as the more likeable candidate on the stage, 53% to 37%, and almost all of the movement in Kaine's favorability rating post-debate was toward the negative side: His unfavorable rating rose from 28% among this same group of debate watchers when they were interviewed pre-debate to 40% after, while his favorability number held about even at 55%. Samsung Galaxy Note 7 replacement phone reportedly catches fire on plane

A customer on board Southwest Flight 994 from Louisville, Ky., to Baltimore noticed smoke coming from the device before the plane took off, Southwest said. In September, Samsung recalled the phone after reports of its battery catching fire. Though there have been reports of replacement phones having issues internationally, this appears to be the first incident to happen within the United States. (more...)

On Thursday, a commuter train smashed through a steel-and-concrete bumper and hurtled into the station's waiting area, killing a woman on the platform and injuring more than 100 other people. It says a full study can't be completed yet because the train is still in the station. A New Jersey Transit worker at the station said he heard an explosion-like sound as the lead auto, coming into the station fast, slammed into the bumper block. (more...)

The pixel will be available in two sizes - the standard 5 inch, and the standard 5.5 inch (titled Pixel XL), according to Tech Crunch . The collection features Pixel and Pixel XL with fascinating high-end features. As for now, there is still no support for multiple Google accounts, but this should be available in future. Besides $649 Pixel phone , the company revealed a smart speaker for the living room named 'Home, ' a new Wi-Fi router and a virtual reality headset . (more...)

At a starting price of roughly $650, the new Pixel phones are aimed at the same markets as Apple's iPhone and Samsung's Galaxy flagship phones. However, Apple still rules the high end of the market, and Google has always been frustrated by the emergence of many variations of Android and the inconsistent experience that has produced. The flight was immediately evacuated, and the picture below purportedly shows the phone after smoke stopped coming out of it. Luckily, the phone malfunctioned while the plane was still grounded. What's notable about this news is that Green says that he has a new Galaxy Note 7 that's not supposed to overheat. We've asked Samsung for comment and will update this story if we get a response. The Chicago City Council on Wednesday approved a one-year suspension for Wells Fargo from city business because of its scandal over phony accounts, joining the states of IL and California in punishing the bank. Wells Fargo staff opened checking, savings and credit card accounts without customer approval for years to satisfy managers' demand for new business, according to a $190 million settlement with federal regulators and California prosecutors reached on September 8.
