A campaign spokeswoman said Clinton made the decision after consulting with community leaders and will instead visit on October 2. Following a plea by Charlotte Mayor Jennifer Roberts for the presidential candidates to please refrain from coming and further taxing the city's "very stressed resources", Team Hillary said late Friday they were postponing a scheduled Sunday visit. Ford Moves More Car Production to Mexico, Slashing Labor Costs

Ford isn't the first automaker move small auto production out of the U.S.as Mexico has become a mecca for new automotive industry investment and has surpassed Canada in annual automotive production. It now employs 8,800 people in Mexico, and the new plant will create 2,800 additional jobs there. Ford has said it continues to invest heavily in its US plants and isn't cutting jobs here. (more...)

German Chancellor Angela Merkel reacted to her party's latest electoral loss by sticking to her migration policy on Monday but acknowledging, more explicitly than before, that she had made mistakes along the way. The Christian Democrats (CDU) polled just 17.5 per cent of the vote, a major blow to Ms Merkel's party and an indication of the uphill battle the party will have at the national elections in Germany in October 2017. Lawmakers from both parties repeatedly pointed out how Bresch's salary had risen even faster than the price of the EpiPen. In defending her company, Bresch spoke about the various ways the company had worked to provide patients with access to EpiPens, like donating the drug to schools and working on extending the expiration of EpiPen, which now has a one-year shelf life. Long term bond prices are more sensitive to increases in interest rates and therefore riskier for investors to hold. While Wednesday's FOMC statement and press conference may have been seen by some to skew towards the hawkish side, especially with the statement's verbiage that "the case for an increase in the federal funds rate has strengthened", the increasingly dovish-leaning dot plot made a strong case for a "lower-for-longer" interest rate outlook.
