Premier said the sales performance of the brand had been "equal to or better than prior to the vote" and it's targeting a 200 store network in the United Kingdom, supporting annual sales of more than $200 million by calendar 2019. However, net profits fell short of market forecasts around $108 million, reflecting tougher than expected trading conditions in the second half, when the warm start to winter crimped clothing sales. Rodney Ramcharan, director of research at the USC Lusk Center for Real Estate, tells CPE that the Federal Reserve is likely setting the stage for a rate hike by the end of the year. The Standard & Poor's 500 index rose 11 points, or 0.5 percent, to 2,174. The US central bank is unlikely to raise rates ahead of the presidential election, which is only six weeks away, but market observers anticipate the Fed moving in December. (more...)

As was the case in NY, the ACLU discovered that the police were disproportionately targeting black residents, who "were subjected to 72 percent of all stops, yet constitute just 32 percent of the city's population". Salesforce executives said they license the Twitter "firehose" of all Tweets that come through the platform, and use it to power sentiment analysis and other tools that show how companies and brands are being discussed and perceived.
