Uber's scheduled rides are already available in 129 other USA cities and 200 total cities worldwide. The feature allows the user to book Uber rides on behalf of their family and friends. Uber clarified saying that what is a scheduled ride for us works like a regular booking for an Uber driver. Riders can schedule a trip through the UberX service page. (more...)

The disclosure comes as Yahoo and CEO Marissa Mayer are trying to sell the company to Verizon. Yahoo might have to force users to reset their passwords, a report by technology site Recode said , citing unnamed sources. In a statement , a spokeswoman said it was working with Yahoo to figure out whether any New Zealand customers had been affected. American crude inventories were slated to increase by 2.3 million barrels over the past week, according to a survey by Reuters, and 2.8 million barrels were expected to be added according to S&P Global Platts. Oil producers are to meet on the sidelines of an industry conference in Algeria next week for talks on potentially freezing oil production, ahead of OPEC's all-important policy meeting in November. However, weekly data expected to show the first increase in USA crude supplies in three weeks and a substantial slide by gasoline futures, with a major gasoline pipeline expected to return to operation on Wednesday, kept prices in check. Gold climbed along with stock markets after the BoJ overhauled its monetary policy framework, switching to targeting interest rates and sidelining more than three years of massive money printing. Commodities like oil and gold are trading firm on Monday. The dollar index, which measures the greenback against six major currencies, was down 0.14 per cent at 95.881 in late trading. (more...)
