Even though there were several witnesses and Brock Turner was literally caught in the act, he was only sentenced to six months in jail because Judge Persky believed a longer sentence would have a "severe impact" on Turner. Turner based on the conviction". It was a conviction and lenient sentence that stirred a national uproar. Rates on a 30-year FHA-backed fixed-rate loan dropped from 3.52% to 3.50%. MBA's Builder Applications Survey tracks application volume from mortgage subsidiaries of home builders across the country. The market composite index - a measure of total loan application volume - increased 4.2 percent from the previous week. Mortgage applications in the USA rose 4.2 percent last week. (more...)

Reliance Jio has been officially launched and claims to have the lowest data rates in the world, with just 50/GB for 4G data, which will go further down to Rs 25/GB if your usage crosses a certain threshold. Reliance Jio is an all IP based network, so when LTE network is not available it has to fall back on the 2G and 3G network of other operators which will incur a charge of 14p. (more...)

Police in Trenton, New Jersey, want to know how a kindergartner wound up with the 30 packets of heroin that were allegedly found in his lunchbox, police tell PEOPLE. He was tested and came back negative for opioids, a Trenton police spokesman told the paper. "IAT is fully committed to providing a safe, healthy environment in which all our students can be engaged, high-achieving learners and positive role models", the school wrote on its Facebook page . Household credit market debt, which includes consumer credit and mortgage and non-mortgage loans, rose 2 per cent in the quarter, easily outpacing growth in disposable income of just 0.5 per cent. The Bank of Canada has flagged the high level of debt as a potential vulnerability for the financial system. At the end of the second quarter, Canadian mortgage debt was at $1.29 trillion. (more...)

Without high demand or strong margins, Ford needed to make a move to reduce costs for its smaller vehicles. According to Ford, no jobs will be lost in the United States.
