NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center in Huntsville, Alabama, manages the agency's New Frontiers Program for its Science Mission Directorate in Washington. NASA also wants to understand the effects of the sun's heat on the asteroid's orbit. If all goes as planned, OSIRIS will return to Earth on September 24, 2023, giving scientists firsthand knowledge of the asteroid. (more...)

That same day, Samsung and fire officials said they would be launching investigations after a Florida family said that a Galaxy Note7 smartphone had exploded in their Jeep on Labor Day, setting the entire vehicle on fire and destroying it. Hancock County Coroner Jim Faulk said Chief DeNardo died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2016. According to the Sun Herald , De Nardo was being escorted from the police station by a pair of Hancock County deputies. He did not reveal details about the investigation. Police Chief Mike De Nardo was suspended from his duties as part of an investigation by the Hancock County Sheriff's Office into an ongoing personnel issue. (more...)
