The agency is recommending "My Account" users enable email notifications, which the CRA said can act "as an early warning to Canadians of potential fraudulent activity on their account". These attacks were mainly targeted at CERB (Canada Emergency Response Benefit) financial aid for those who were impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. The government and the RCMP are investigating to find out if there had been any privacy breaches and if information had been obtained from the accounts, the ... (more...)

About 352,500 customers were affected, based on the estimated amount of power cut, affecting about 1 million people based on the average household size. Power was turned off for about an hour in each block. Due to increasingly hot weather across the state coupled with cloud cover in Southern California impacting utility-scale solar assets, CAISO has issued a Grid Warning Notice and may require PG&E to conduct rotating outages later this evening. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says Thomson International is expanding its recall of red onions to include the yellow, white and sweet yellow varieties. People older than 65 and younger than 5 are more likely to suffer severe illness. All those who are experiencing these symptoms are encouraged to reach out to their medical provider. (more...)

Hyundai says it has made "several mechanical improvements" to the Elantra's suspension to increase stiffness, while also adding 18-inch alloys and larger front brakes. The N performance parts provide a more dynamic driving experience beyond the base model, allowing customers to get more of the N experience. This is the first time Hyundai has come up with an N Line version of the Elantra. (more...)

Facebook is being sued for allegedly collecting the biometric data of Instagram users or people who appear in photos on the platform without their consent.
