Data earlier showed the private sector created 177,000 jobs in August, in line with expectations, and contracts to buy previously owned homes surged in July, suggesting the economy was regaining sufficient momentum for the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates this year. Hershey shares fell $12.77 (-11.44%) to $98.90 in after-hours trading. Hershey rejected the offer, which amounted to $107 a share, half in cash and half in stock. The Hershey Trust is revamping its board and management rules after coming under scrutiny for its spending practices. A female passer-by also stopped and called 911. In footage taken by the reporter with Perry, he can be heard telling the woman to "hold on" as he carries her to safety. Paramedics arrived and took the woman to the hospital. The 21-year-old woman seemed confused and weak, but didn't appear to be severely injured. Perry later reflected on the incident: "Feel a little different, you know". (more...)
