In the latest monthly report by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, data showed that the cartel's 13 member states throttled output by 6.2 million barrels per day (bpd) last month. Backwardation occurs when near-term contracts are trading at higher prices than outer months, due to abnormal circumstances. Prices are showing "solidity at these levels, as oil markets ignore the concerns rolling across other asset classes at the moment", said Jeffrey Halley, senior market analyst ... (more...)

To make End to End Encryption (E2EE) possible, Free/Basic users seeking access to E2EE will be required to verify themselves via a phone number and a text message. An early beta of the E2EE feature is set to roll out in July of this year, with all Zoom users to continue working from the AES 256 GCM transport encryption standard in the meantime. (more...)

In a sign that Ohioans laid off during the viral outbreak are heading back to work, last week marked the seventh in a row in the state that continuing claims for unemployment benefits fell. The Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, a federal program for self-employed workers, independent contractors, and gig-economy workers ineligible for standard benefits, also added 760,526 new claims. The automaker also increased the efficiency of its new drive units, replacing mechanically driven parts (like the motor's oil pump) with electric variants, and modifying its regenerative braking to return more energy to the battery pack.
