The FAA said in a statement that the approval it was giving UPS was based on "extensive data and documentation, as well as test flights" that showed the company could meet safety standards. "For example, drone service may not be efficient in dense urban areas where package deliveries are already concentrated". From the video, it would seem that a solution wasn't immediately clear to the yellow-vested workers who were dangerously close to the cart. His action was quick . A runaway beverage cart sounds like a pretty innocent object until it starts dangerously flinging its cargo at you and almost hits your plane. No one was injured, although the mess did cause a ten-minute flight delay. (more...)

AB InBev had cancelled a plan for a bigger initial public offering (IPO) of the unit in July that could have raised as much as $9.8 billion, citing "several factors, including the prevailing market conditions". After implementing this upsize option, Budweiser's IPO in APAC is predicted to gather about US$5 billion or HK$39.2 billion. The total size could reach about $5.75 billion if a so-called greenshoe, or option to sell more stock after the shares start trading, is exercised in full. (more...)

The official Purchasing Managers' Index (PMI) was at 49.8 in September, slightly higher than 49.5 in August, data from the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) showed. The geographic distribution of the companies covered in the two surveys is also different. Capital Economics said: "China's official and unofficial PMIs rose in September, but we think this is unlikely to mark an economic turnaround not least because global demand looks set to weaken further".
