United Van Lines determined that the No. 1 reason for moving both in and out of IL in 2018 was for a job, but people age 65 and over account for the largest percentage of people moving out of the state. IL remains one of the top USA states residents are leaving, according to three moving companies. Several southern states also experienced high percentages of inbound migration, such as SC (59.9%) and North Carolina (57%). (more...)

It might seem insane, but BCLC is also waiting to hear from the victor of a $39-million Lotto Max jackpot that was won in Delta South on December 28. It's not the only unclaimed lottery prize in Alberta either. A ticket sold in Edmonton won $60 million on the October 26 Lotto Max draw. Western Canada Lottery Corporation say that the ticket was purchased in Winnipeg and matched the winning number exactly. (more...)

According to Reuters , citing a German lawyer not involved in the case, the court order issued in Munich is directed exclusively at Apple's entities in the country and, thus, Apple's interpretation of the ruling is the correct one. While the app's privacy policy does note that data could be used for targeted advertising and might be shared with "partners", California's lawsuit argues users have no reason to look there since the prompt doesn't even suggest their data will be used in those ways. Britain's FTSE 100 closed down 0.1 percent at 6,728.13 for an annual loss of 12.5 percent. The Nasdaq Composite closed at 6,635.28 for a gain of 50.76 points or 0.77%. But when investors returned to the market on December 26, the Dow spiked 1,086 points the biggest point gain ever. The gains were led by health care and technology stocks. (more...)
