The lawsuit , filed in a California federal court, came as Uber Chief Executive Travis Kalanick announced a leave of absence this week. US factory output fell 0.4 pct. in May as car sales slump

Analysts had expected factory output to rise a modest 0.1 percent. That's the biggest monthly gain since May 2010. Manufacturing output fell 0.4% in May after a revised 1.1% increase in April. Output in the mining sector is still 10% below its December 2014 peak. Utilities output also rose by 0.4% in May following a 0.7% increase in the previous month. (more...)

Paulson of Howell, a dealership manager. The sign said, "Please do not give anything to this panhandler. We offered him a full time job at $10.00/HR", the sign reads. According to locals, the panhandler has been targeting the area for the past two years. "You feel bad for them and stuff, but then it's day after day, week after week". (more...)

But some euro zone scenarios show that with sufficiently high economic growth and fiscal discipline - a primary surplus above 3 percent of GDP for 20 years - Greece would not need any extra debt relief. Two more policymakers at the Bank of England (BoE) joined existing rate rise advocate Kristin Forbes in calling for a reversal to the Bank's cut to interest rates last August, sending the pound as high as $1.2795 in the minutes following the Bank's decision, which left rates unchanged. Mr Hammond announced on Thursday that in light of the tragedy he had withdrawn and that his thoughts are with the families affected by the blaze. June 15 USA supermarket operator Kroger Co's on Thursday reported a 56.5 percent decline in quarterly profit, hurt by costs related to pension plans and as it offered voluntary retirement to some employees. The company now expects fiscal 2017 earnings per share in the range of $2.00-$2.05 per share, down from the earlier estimate of $2.21-$2.25. Kroger continues to envision identical supermarket sales (excluding fuel) in the range of flat to up 1% in fiscal 2017. (more...)

U.S. District Judge James Boasberg in Washington said the Army Corps did not adequately consider the effects of a possible oil spill on the fishing and hunting rights of the Standing Rock Sioux tribe . The Corps may be able to persuade the judge to allow Dakota Access to keep operating during the period of further environmental review, Clearview Energy Partners LLC analysts led by Christine Tezak said in a note to clients Wednesday.
