The airline operated a full schedule at Gatwick on Sunday and virtually all of its scheduled long-haul worldwide flights from Heathrow, although the knock-on effects of the disruption resulted in a reduced short-haul program. The airline offered customers a full refund with the option to rebook for future travel by November. Hotels surrounding the airports were reportedly charging as much as £1,000 to £2,500 for rooms for a night, according to the Sunday Telegraph . (more...)

The Chinese economy maintains a stable and positive momentum into 2017, with first quarter GDP up to 6.9 percent, further accelerating growth rate by 0.2 percentage points year on year. The government's direct debt burden, which is now at a modest level of less than 40% of GDP, is expected to rise gradually towards 40% of GDP by 2018 and closer to 45% by the end of the decade, in line with the 2016 debt burden for the median of A-rated sovereigns (40.7%). They got out when a bystander went over and got the older child to pull the emergency latch. Castillo was arrested by authorities when she returned to her auto. Maw said that another woman in the parking lot who heard the children screaming knew how to open the trunk from inside. They quickly realized the noise was coming from a child. (more...)

The Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries, as expected, agreed Thursday to extend its current cap on oil production another nine months, now expiring July 1, 2018. A group of non-OPEC producers, including Russian Federation, are also expected to maintain their commitment to the production caps. By keeping production at about 1.8 million barrels a day lower than late 2016's levels, the group is suppressing about 2 percent of global supply. (more...)

"We will do whatever is necessary", he said. "The front of the curve declined the most, which at least for now implies that the market doesn't quite believe that a tightening and/or backwardation is really coming", said analysts at JBC Energy.
