WTI (West Texas Intermediate) crude oil (UCO) (PXI) (VDE) futures contracts for June delivery rose 0.5% and closed at $46.43 per barrel on May 8, 2017. The decline in us crude oil inventories is likely due to the increase in gross inputs to refineries in April. The question of inventories emerges as the key factor for the success of the deal between OPEC and its allies. (more...)

Snap IPOed in March, which raised $3.4 billion and propelled the company to a $24 billion valuation. Call it "snap judgement" or an overreaction by investors, but with a top- and bottom-line miss combined with declining user growth metrics, the upstart rival to Facebook (FB) did nothing to help itself. Elon Musk's commercial rocket company was supposed to launch the spy satellite on Sunday, but a sensor problem postponed the launch. Thousands of people have been killed and about 1.6 million driven from their homes during the eight-year insurgency by Boko Haram . This makes the grand total of Chibok girls released so far to 103.
