Consumer spending growth will grind to a halt by 2018 as inflation is set to climb by the end of the year, The National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) warned. The Federal Reserve left interest rates unchanged on Wednesday, as was widely expected, and gave a positive assessment of the US economy, suggesting it was still on track for two more rate hikes this year. The Fed will have two more employment growth reports to hand before its next meeting. Choe Son Hui, North Korea's foreign ministry director general for US affairs, made the announcement to journalists in Beijing, a South Korean news agency reported. Choi did not elaborate on what the North's conditions are, but her comments raise the possibility of North Korea and the United States returning to negotiations for the first time since 2008, when six-nation talks over Pyongyang's nuclear weapons program fell apart. The attack on the Pakistani labourers took place some 20 kilometres from the emerging port city of Gwadar in Baluchistan province that forms the southern hub of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Their remains will be handed over to their family members later in the day.
