As progress is made implementing the 100 day plan, the two countries will begin to work on a one-year plan to further solidify actions to promote US-China economic engagement and dialogue, Ross added, and will begin deeper engagement on these issues at the first meeting of the Comprehensive Economic Dialogue which will be held in the United States this summer. BT said that both Gavin Patterson and Tony Chanmugam understood the decision and would not have accepted a bonus if one had been approved. BT is axing 4,000 roles and has stripped its CEO of his bonus following a " challenging year ". The scandal added to investor concerns over regulatory, investment and competitive pressures for BT, making it one of the worst-performing stocks in the FTSE 100 this year. (more...)

Ahead of a May 25 meeting of the cartel where its members and Russian Federation are expected to roll over an agreement to cut production, OPEC said in its monthly market report that common policies were needed for market stability. Three cargoes of 1 million barrels each loading from Novorossiisk will be supplied by Litasco, while Trafigura will supply 1 million barrels of Urals, they added. (more...)

During the raid, one of the women was shot while the other two were arrested. Chief Magistrate Emma Arbuthnot told the court: " The defendants are all charged with conspiracy to murder ". Several other people arrested in the same operation, including women ages 18 and 19 and a 16-year-old boy, have been released without charges. The police had been keeping an eye on the women for a few days before the operation was conducted against them. (more...)

A survey of industry sentiment from S&P Global Platts predicted a draw on US crude oil inventories of 1.8 million barrels and a gasoline stock decline of 700,000 barrels. In addition to the potential extension of the OPEC agreement into 2018, some ministers have also discussed the possibility of deepening their output cuts, said four delegates. (more...)
