Apple never misses a chance to brand itself as a tech company that puts our privacy before its profits - and this year's annual developer conference was no exception. To unlock auto doors, users must hold their CarKey-enabled iPhone or Apple Watch near an NFC reader typically located in the door handle. Apple is calling the new chip Apple Silicon. And access to technologies such as the Neural Engine will make the Mac an wonderful platform for developers to use machine learning. Virtualization technology also allows users to run Linux or Windows seamlessly using Apple Silicon too. Apple's Developer Transition Kit, which registered developers can apply for via its developer website, includes a Mac mini with an A12Z processor inside, running a pre-release version of macOS Big Sur . Google Maps is also working on deep integration with San Francisco-based bike sharing service Bay Wheels. Applications under these two programs are not included in the initial claims count. Applications for PUA increased by 66,063 to 760,526 last week. They were killed in a gunfight this morning in Zadibal Soura in Srinagar where forces earlier launched a cordon and search operation following inputs about the presence of militants in the area. The official said the three slain militants were affiliated to proscribed terror outfits Hizbul Mujahideen and Islamic State Jammu and Kashmir. Police also said a slain militant killed in Kulgam encounter has been identified as a foreigner. (more...)
