The UK's Health secretary is self-isolating after being "pinged" by the NHS coronavirus app. Mr Hancock had Covid a year ago, but even those who have been infected before must isolate. The total number of coronavirus-related deaths in Britain now stands at 89,860, the data showed. More than four million people in the United Kingdom have received their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine , according to government figures. (more...)

Of the cases notified today, 701 are in Dublin, 204 in Cork, 102 in Waterford, 98 in Meath, 90 in Donegal and the remaining 806 cases are spread across all other counties. Of these, 329 individuals are now hospitalized with COVID-19, 70 of whom are in intensive care. The Province says there are 4,331 active cases of the virus, 329 people are hospitalized, 70 of whom are in critical or intensive care. (more...)

Of the cases notified yesterday: 1,065 cases were in Dublin, 306 were in Cork, 181 were in Galway, 180 were in Kildare, 160 were in Limerick and the remaining were spread across all other counties . Quebec reported 1,634 new COVID-19 cases, which included about 200 from the previous day that weren't noted because of a delay. Of the 35 people in intensive care, there were 23 people who had active cases and 12 people who were no longer infectious but still needed critical care. (more...)

While the state did not reveal the location where the reactions were reported, six people reported allergic reactions after receiving the vaccine at the vaccine super station at Petco Park on January 14. An acute allergic reaction was previously reported in Boston in December after a physician received a Moderna vaccine. Doses from Moderna Lot 041L20A are suspected of causing a "higher-than-usual number of adverse events" and should be shelved until a proper investigation can be ... (more...)
