Roscommon now have the fourth highest incidence rate in the country at 158.0. Three further deaths linked to Covid-19 have been reported in Northern Ireland. After vaccination, the spike protein primes the immune system to attack the virus if it later infects the body. According to the Alberta website, there were nine new deaths attributed to the disease, which brings the total to 471. The territory saw 25 new cases on Saturday, including 22 in hard-hit Arviat and three in Whale Cove. Alberta added 1,336 new cases, the first time it's exceeded 1,200 new cases since the start of the pandemic. The provincial contact-tracing system has been overwhelmed and estimates it doesn't know the origin of about 80 per cent of all cases. (more...)
