Of those active cases, 60 people are in hospital, including 21 in critical or intensive care. There is one new healthcare outbreak at Yaletown House in Vancouver Coastal Health where one staff member has tested positive. The total for the county is now 662, with 174 cases that are actively being monitored by the Health Department, 477 that have recovered, and a total of 11 deaths. (more...)

The CDC said a draft version of changes to its recommendations were posted in error on its website while it was in the process of updating its guidance. COVID-19 has now killed almost 200,000 Americans. However, it appears as though the CDC had also reversed this guideline by September 18 . The CDC changed its official guidance to note that aerosols are "thought to be the main way the virus spreads" and to warn that badly ventilated indoor spaces are particularly risky. You may remember a few weeks ago, the CDC guidelines were updated to say that asymptomatic people didn't need to be tested for the coronavirus , even if they had been exposed to it. However, the NYT also reported the HHS rewrote and then "dropped" the guidance into the CDC's website, flouting the agency's review process.
