The Illinois Department of Public Health reported 1,953 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 28 additional deaths Thursday. The Nevada Hospital Association, in its daily report published Thursday, said that "hospital infrastructure is not experiencing any stress as a result of significant COVID-19 case counts" and that hospitals in all regions have "significant capacity". Keith Horrocks said in a news conference on Saturday that officers had been called to the area because a boy was having a "psychological episode and had made threats to some folks with the weapon". A GoFundMe page was set up to raise money for Linden's medical expenses. Douglas County has reported 1,792 cases of COVID-19 as of Thursday, an increase of 20 cases since Wednesday. Minnesota Agriculture Commissioner Thom Petersen says the state needs everyone to do their part and follow the rules because keeping businesses like bars and restaurants open is "critical to the state's economy", and following the mandates and guidelines will "ensure we slow the spread of COVID-19 so that these businesses can continue to operate". Until yesterday's announcement, development of the Oxford vaccine had been powering ahead.
