California finds itself back where it started in March when the pandemic gripped the United States. On Tuesday, California recorded 12,807 cases, the largest daily increase since the pandemic began, Gov. The 7 day positivity rate of tests in California is 7.6 percent, about where it was last week. He also ordered gyms, churches and hair salons to close in the 30 hardest-hit counties of the state. (more...)

Synairgen said its SNG001 formulation uses a protein called interferon beta, which the body produces when it gets a viral infection, and is inhaled directly into the lungs of patients with coronavirus, using a nebuliser, in the hope that it will stimulate an immune response. There have been no further deaths reported in Ireland from Covid-19, while six new cases have been confirmed by the Department of Health. 55% of cases reported in the last fortnight were in Dublin, 10% in Kildare and 6% in Cork. There is no blame in contracting the virus. "We have followed the specific advice of the HSE and the Health and Safety Authority at all times in relation to this matter and are assisting the HSE in arranging further tests as required".
