This particular antibody , which the researchers call S309, showed a strong ability to bind to and disable the " spike protein " on SARS-CoV-2 that allows the virus to enter cells , according to a statement from the University of Washington School of Medicine, which was involved in the research. A total of 5,377 cases are now considered "fully recovered". 57 people remain hospitalized, while nine have been admitted to intensive care units (ICU). Encouraging Albertans to safely visit the great outdoors, the province announced that restrictions to outdoor mass gatherings have been eased. She added that it is important to keep case counts down as the Province moves into Stage One of the economic relaunch. (more...)

Loss of taste and smell has been officially named as the third symptom of coronavirus , in addition to a cough and fever. The change, announced by Professor Jonathan Van-Tam, England's deputy chief medical officer, came after scientists advising the government decided it could help pick up more cases if included in the basic case definition. Ear, nose and throat specialists have been warning for weeks that loss of smell and taste are symptoms of coronavirus . Yes.
