In a statement released Thursday, hospital officials said that nurses were always provided with protective equipment outlined in guidelines in set by the U.S. -19. On the day they were suspended, six doctors told him they felt it was unsafe to work with COVID-19 patients without N95s, he said. She said the hospital told her that wearing a surgical mask, and not an N95 mask, would be enough. (more...)

A total of 3,718 tests were completed in Alberta over the past 24 hours, and the province has surpassed 100,000 total tests as of today. Altogether, 1,997 cases are in the Calgary zone with Edmonton having 429 cases. (more...)

Washington forced to recall 12,000 coronavirus test kits for contamination

In response, the Washington State Department of Health issued a recall order for about 12,000 of the Chinese-made kits, which were sent to local health jurisdictions, tribal nations and its partners across the state. State officials say they're working to replace the kits as quickly as possible. No other supplies previously used for testing are impacted by this recall. (more...)

After receiving the treatment, the patient showed progressive improvement and by the fourth day, was weaned off ventilator support on the morning of 18 April and continued on supplementary oxygen, thereafter. Businesses that will not allowed to reopen include bars, nightclubs, amusement parks, and live performance venues. "If it's being proposed that staff reuse equipment, this must be demonstrably driven by science and the best evidence - rather than availability".
