The Oxford researchers are now recruiting volunteers for Phase 1 human trials. Clinical trials and producing vaccines for millions of Britain's could still take several months more, however. A second expert, Prof Peter Horby, added: "The UK is leading the global fight against the pandemic". A team led by Sarah Gilbert , a professor of vaccinology, has recruited 500 volunteers from the ages of 18 to 55 for the early- and mid-stage randomized controlled trial. (more...)

Travellers will be required to don non-medical masks in airports and airplanes when asked by authorities to do so. All passengers that either depart or arrive at Canadian airports will be asked to show they have a face mask or face covering during the boarding process or they will be turned away. (more...)

He said the United Kingdom had moved slowly to test the treatment. Another small-scale trial involving London hospitals is in the pipeline, led by Professor Lechler, who is also executive director of King's Health Partners. (more...)

Ascension Saint Thomas is now collecting convalescent plasma from those who have recovered from COVID-19 as part of a treatment trial they hope can combat the coronavirus . Transfusing plasma - the liquid part of blood - from survivors into people now ill with COVID-19 may treat the infection.
