The researchers conclude that "Significant presymptomatic transmission would probably reduce the effectiveness of control measures that are initiated by symptom onset, such as isolation, contact tracing and enhanced hygiene or use of face masks for symptomatic persons". Officials at several of the nursing homes on the list said they were doing their best, and attributed the high number of deaths to the fragility of their patients and difficulty in keeping the virus out, rather than substandard care. During a press briefing, the governor's top aide, Melissa DeRosa, said timely reporting by some nursing homes has been a problem, and warned those who fail to comply going forward will get slapped with civil fines. "We contact them and if there's a need for PPE. we have stockpiles". Looking ahead, Fauci said if the new coronavirus continues to circulate widely enough over the summer and fall, it might be possible to finish larger studies slightly sooner than the 12 to 18 months he'd originally predicted - maybe toward "mid to late winter of next season". Neither health department reports the number of those recovered. Ages for confirmed cases range from 1 to 90, with a median age of 38.5. The World Health Organisation (WHO ) is warning that drinking alcohol may increase our chances of catching coronavirus . There are, of course, other reasons to monitor or restrict alcohol consumption at any point in time, as the W.H.O says that it "can exacerbate health vulnerability, risk-taking behaviours, mental health issues and violence" and "In particular, alcohol compromises the body's immune system and increases the risk of adverse health outcomes". The Swedish royal family spokesperson has confirmed that Sofia has finished an online course to help out health workers, who are now going through one of the most challenging times ever. The online training, which is run by Sophiahemmet University, prepares people without experience in a medical environment to be able to take on support duties, which could include disinfecting equipment, cleaning, or working in the kitchen.
