A survey of more than 320 hospitals found week-long waits for COVID-19 test results, insufficient staff to run ventilators and shortages of basic cleaning supplies. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stepped in to fast-track development of and access to two more investigational therapies for COVID-19 based on convalescent plasma and hyperimmune globulin from human blood. 'But it's (the germs) on my gloves, that's fine right? I got my wipes and I cleaned off my cart and everything, but I still have my gloves on. The model projected a daily maximum of 3,130 coronavirus-related deaths, a number that went up and is about double the highest single-day number of deaths thus far. New Jersey's projection rose dramatically from 2,100 to 9,690, while the projection for IL remained essentially the same. Some areas of the country, like NY, are also being hit harder than others. The CDC reported its tally of cases of the respiratory illness known as COVID-19, caused by the new coronavirus , as of 4 p.m. The CDC received its first report of a case involving a child on March 2; since March 5, it said, pediatric cases have been reported daily.
