Now, according to USA Today , authorities have concluded that, although a pet may be able to carry low levels of the virus if in contact with a human patient, they 'can't get sick from the virus'. The dog wasn't showing any clinical signs of the disease, according to a report from the World Organisation for Animal Health. Ottawa now has 10 positive cases of the COVID-19 virus. York Region public health is now only reporting one additional confirmed case, the 10th, as a woman in her 60s in Vaughan. On Thursday, March 12, the Ontario provincial government announced that March Break would be extended by two weeks. The new numbers were posted on the Ontario government's website Saturday morning, which tracks new cases across the province twice daily. (more...)

Declaring a national emergency, President Donald Trump and senior staffers laid out a new testing strategy created to screen hundreds of thousands of Americans at drive-thru centers based around major retail chains. Samples from the state that test positive are reported as "presumptive positive" until the CDC can confirm the result.
