There have been acute worries over Four Seasons' financial performance and debt pile for several years. A major study of 2.8 million adults revealed that people with a body max index (BMI) of 30 to 35 had a 70 per cent higher risk of heart failure compared to those with a BMI under 30. This BMI was also linked to a 50% higher risk of dying prematurely from any cause compared to people of a normal weight. "The health risks linked with having excess body weight are particularly high for type 2 diabetes and sleep apnoea", says author Christiane Haase from Novo Nordisk, Denmark. (more...)

Without examining premature deaths specifically, the NHS argues that a poor sense of smell may have had little impact on the overall risk of death.
