The bird was caught by Kuwaiti customs with the pills attached to him in an adorable pigeon-sized rucksack. Birds have been caught in the act a few times previously. Case in point, this pigeon in Kuwait that was caught with a little bag full of drugs out for delivery. Prison guards reportedly found that bird carrying cocaine and cannabis. (more...)

The Arms Export Control Act gives senators 10 days to bring up opposition to arms sales, and Paul will have to act particularly fast this time because the Senate is leaving Friday for the Memorial Day holiday, during which they take an entire week off. The result, the CBO projects , will be that insurers will drop several benefits that now are mandated to be part of all insurance plans in those states. In these states the young and healthy will get cheaper health insurance. This means premiums could no longer include coverage of items under a person's current insurance such as mental health care, prescriptions and more. (more...)

The finding is a blow to arguments from House GOP leaders who managed to get their bill over the finish line by arguing that a last-minute addition of $8 billion would bolster protections for those with pre-existing conditions. Insurance could also be thousands of dollars more expensive for people who are pregnant or have issues with addiction or mental health.
