It looked like the Red Wings had taken the lead midway through the period, but was ultimately waved off because of goaltender interference. So to start, researchers pushed a detergent solution through the spinach's veins, stripping it of its plant cells and leaving behind the structure that keeps those cells in place. "Currently, it is as yet unclear how the plant vasculature would be integrated into the native human vasculature and whether there would be an immune response", the research paper explains. (more...)

In contrast to previous research which found that a majority of cancers are caused by extrinsic factors, the new study has found that 66 percent of cancers are caused by random mistakes in DNA replication during cell division. As per CNN report, "For their new study, Tomasetti and Vogelstein worked with Lu Li, a doctoral student at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, to analyze genome sequencing and epidemiologic data from 32 cancer types, including breast and prostate cancers". Joy alleged that the five teenagers were arguing with a McDonald's employee inside the shop but when he entered, immediately turned their attention to him, for no apparent reason. "Nobody intervened when I was attacked and later they sped away in their vehicle", he was quoted as saying. Joy described one attacker as a "six-footer with brown hair in black T-shirt" who started punching him in the face. (more...)

NIH defined sepsis as a serious medical condition that caused by body's response to an infection. As he recalls, back in 2016, a 48-year-old woman diagnosed with severe sepsis was brought to the Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. Dr Maril then tried the same treatment with his next two sepsis patient and found it to be effective. Twice more the patients recovered. Later, thiamine was added into the mix, as sick patients often are deficient in thiamine (thiamine helps cells absorb vitamin C). (more...)
