A Queensland Ambulance spokeswoman said paramedics were treating him for severe blood loss after he sustained multiple bites to his upper and lower leg. Unconfirmed reports suggest that the man was attacked by either a bull shark or a tiger shark. He said paramedics were called just after 10.30am and the attack happened off the Port Hinchinbrook boat ramp. (more...)

Police said the 30-year-old victim died at the scene on Watson Road Padstow early Saturday morning suffering a stab wound to the neck. The injured man was treated by paramedics at the scene but couldn't be saved. Investigators remained at the crime scene throughout the day, while word of Mr Walsh's death spread online. China makes deadly opioid carfentanil a controlled substance

USA officials are welcoming the news that China will now list carfentanil as a controlled substance, putting it in the same category as fentanyl - the less powerful opioid of which carfentanil is a variant. Both the DEA and U.S. State Department have pressed China to make carfentanil a controlled substance. Some 5,000 times stronger than heroin, carfentanil is so potent it has been used as a weapon and is considered a potential terrorism threat. (more...)
