Jeff Duchin, health officer for public health, Seattle and King County, said in a statement earlier this month. Denver Public Health and the Tri-County Health Department are both assisting the CDPHE in the investigation. Of the 80 reports, 50 of the patients reported having been vaccinated for mumps. As with other diseases that were once almost eradicated by vaccines, the resurgence in mumps coincides with the birth of the anti-vaxxer movement. (more...)

TWO survivors of the Holocaust will be among those remembering the millions of Jews who were killed during World War II at a service in Enfield Town tonight (Thursday). It chose January 27 to mark the anniversary of the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration, killing and labor camp. Hoecke last week called Berlin's Holocaust memorial a "monument of shame" and said Germany should take a "positive" attitude toward its history. (more...)
