The FDA has requested more clinical data from the company for the type 2 diabetes medication, which is a combination of saxagliptin and dapagliflozin drugs. AZ has previously been enthusiastic about touting positive results from the combination drug, which showed "significant" greater reductions in HbA1c compared to the monotherapies in a Phase III trial. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Memphis, USA,  said  it becomes the duty of clinicians to prevent patients undergoing chemotherapy from life-threatening infections by antibiotic prophylaxis. A 70 percent increase in resistance would lead to an additional 15,000 deaths annually and 280,000 infections, they said.
