The Steelers wanted to dump the rotation at the position in 2015 to limit the wear and tear on the 38-year-old Harrison, but with Dupree out, that won't be possible. The Steelers selected Dupree with the 22nd pick in the 2015 draft, and the polished pass-rusher arrived in the National Football League ready to assert his dominance as a member of the team's front seven. Hargrave, who beat out third-year defensive lineman Daniel McCullers for the starting spot, injured his quad in practice Monday, the same day he was promoted. It keeps continuing to get better. Heyward is most impressed by Hargrave's resilience. But between his play in the preseason and Gruden's comments, it seems like the team believes in Kelley too, regardless of draft position. (more...)

Javon Hargrave is day-to-day following an evaluation. The Steelers will have their first official injury report practice on Thursday, where the team will report who practiced, who didn't and who were partial participants in the workout. The second-year linebacker did not play in the preseason and missed most of training camp because of a groin injury . Dupree was the Steelers first-round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, with the 22nd overall pick. He finished the season with 26 total tackles and four sacks. Arthur Moats will replace him at LOLB. Specifically, the team moved $4 million owed Brown from 2017 to 2016. Rumors of Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, meeting with the Steelers last week hinted of some sort of new deal . The Steelers are still negotiating to sign guard David DeCastro to a new contract before the season opens September 12, when another team policy dictates all contract negotiations end until next year. The Steelers have placed tight end Ladarius Green on the physically unable to perform list. The talented tight end, presumed to be rehabilitating his surgically repaired ankle, was placed on the PUP list Tuesday. He had told reporters in the offseason that he expected to be ready for camp. Ankle surgery kept him from practicing this spring. The Steelers will open the regular season with Jesse James as their starting tight end. (more...)

Each of the players would be suspended until they have participated in the interview process with investigators from the league, after which Roger Goodell the NFL Commissioner would determine if and when the suspension is lifted. The interview with Harrison is unlikely to be a friendly one. While Manning cooperated fully and cleared his name, the other players have yet to submit to the league's interview requests which the NFL Players' Association has asked them not to participate in.
