"He fought to give more opportunities for minority coaches to ascend in the National Football League", the paper writes , "an effort that prompted the adoption of what is known as the Rooney Rule, which requires teams to interview at least one minority coach in the process of hiring a head coach". As of now, he'll most likely be competing for a spot on the roster, but if he happens to make the team out of training camp, he could end up surprising Steelers fans by the end of the season. Hunter was then claimed off waivers by the Buffalo Bills and would finish the season in upstate NY. Harrison spent his entire career with the Pittsburgh Steelers, minus a short stint with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013. But, in September, Harrison agreed to come out of retirement and sign a contract with Pittsburgh . Despite Pittsburgh's attempts to draft and develop a successor to take Harrison's place on defense, the five-time Pro Bowler has fended off all attempts of replacement, managing to remain an effective player well into his late-30s. Current Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach and former Colorado State standout Joey Porter is planning on pleading guilty to disorderly conduct on Tuesday, his attorney confirmed to the Associated Press. Joey Porter is putting his infamous arrest behind him. He recorded just three total tackles for the Steelers. The veteran safety and Cleveland native didn't appreciate the lack of maturity Gilbert showed in two seasons with the orange and brown. Even though he didn't work out in Pittsburgh, Steelers fans shouldn't be too bummed out. In August, the Steelers traded a 2018 sixth-round pick to the Cleveland Browns in exchange for Gilbert, who went eighth overall in the 2014 National Football League draft out of Oklahoma State.
