Four people, including three children, shot at outdoor birthday party in Rexdale

Toronto Shooting Injures 4, Including 3 Children

Police say a five-year-old girl is in stable condition after a shooting at a birthday party that left two other children and an adult injured in northwest Toronto.

The Toronto Sun and CP24 are reporting that paramedics treated five people with injuries suffered in the attack.

"It's unconscionable", Taverner said, adding it's "hard to believe" anyone could shooting up a child's birthday party.

Parks says he doesn't have information on the condition of the other victims, although police have previously said the adult hit by the gunfire suffered a leg wound.

Taverner said officers are also reviewing video surveillance footage from the area.

Superintendent Ron Taverner also told the outlet that it does not appear that those shot were targeted.

"I've been a police officer a number of years and this is one of the most disturbing scenes, when you see young people like this indiscriminately shot".

"I know we all want answers to why this tragedy happened and to see those responsible face justice", Tory said.

A spokesperson for the Toronto Paramedics said that one child is in life threatening condition, a child and an adult are in serious condition and another child and an adult sustained minor injuries. "We need help", Taverner said Sunday.

"What we're doing right now is appealing for the community".

"This is a shocking and outrageous act of gun violence that comes amidst the work Toronto Police and the City have been doing that has led to a decline in shootings over the past year", he said. Police are interviewing local residents, who are cooperating.

Ontario Premier Doug Ford called the incident "inconceivable and beyond comprehension".

"My heart goes out to the victims and the families of the victims and to all the people that were involved, because this is a traumatizing experience for that neighbourhood, which is a wonderful neighbourhood full of wonderful people", Tory said during an interview with CP24 on Sunday morning. They quote a senior police official as saying it was unbelievable.
