COVID-19: 259 new cases reported today

As of Monday, 81 people were hospitalized in New Mexico with COVID-19.

And there is now only one case of Covid-19 in NI Care Homes. It's the third day of new cases under 200.

The health ministry notes vaccination levels are up to 74.2 per cent for adults and 71.9 per cent for all eligible British Columbians aged 12 or older. There is one case of a person who resides outside of Canada.

The Fraser and Interior health authorities had the most new cases.

Two additional deaths that occurred more than 30 days ago also were reported, raising the state's death toll to 4,286, the New Mexico Department of Health said.

Health officials in British Columbia say it's encouraging to see a steady increase in the number of people who are protected with a COVID-19 vaccine as cases decline. Our condolences are with the family, friends and caregivers of the people who have died as a result of COVID-19.

The data, which is broken out by ZIP code as of Tuesday, shows the largest number of COVID-19 cases - 3,695 as of Tuesday - in the 98682 ZIP code, which covers parts of east Vancouver, Orchards, Hockinson, Sifton, Proebstel and Livingston.

"We are on a good path to get back to work, to school, to university, to seeing friends, to travelling", she said.
