European regulators followed suit, but the Food and Drug Administration later temporarily halted distribution after "rare and severe" blood clotting was reported in over a dozen women as young as 18.

There are now four vaccine types being used in France: Those of AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna.

Similar to AstraZeneca, Johson & Johnson is being recommended for anyone who wishes to receive a COVID-19 immunization sooner than by waiting for an mRNA jab.

Dr. Wilfred Ellis, an infectious diseases specialist and board president of the Allen County Board of Health, said the pause may have exacerbated concerns among adults who were already unsure about the vaccines, who make up the majority of those who have not yet been vaccinated.

The independent body of scientific experts declared the Janssen COVID-19 vaccine by Johnson & Johnson safe for use, saying the benefits of preventing COVID-19 infection outweigh the risk of rare blood clots.

The vaccines arrived from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health's distribution.

The decision means that a last age group of Danes will likely have to wait until the autumn to be fully vaccinated when other authorised vaccines become available to them.

The health authority noted Denmark's epidemic was now "under control", and that "the vaccination rollout is progressing satisfactorily with other available vaccines". The supply now isn't voluminous, as Saint Vincent Hospital predicts about one or two more clinics will use the remaining single-shot doses.

In a statement to national media, the health agency indicated that the freeze affects 300,000 doses received during the past week, with the doses to be reviewed before they can be distributed. In April, the U.S. temporarily suspended the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after it was linked to rare cases of thrombosis.
