Silento arrested in connection to cousins murder


Hawk is being held at DeKalb County Jail.

According to XXL magazine, the 34-year-old victim was found bleeding heavily after suffering gunshot wounds to his face and leg in a suburb of Georgia, US.

Silento's publicist has released a statement following the rapper getting arrested for murdering his cousin.

The DeKalb County Police Department said that it began an investigation into Rooks' death on January 21 in Decatur, Georgia.

Silento was booked into the DeKalb County Jail at earlier today on charges of felony murder.

The 23-year-old was charged with murder in the death of his older cousin, Frederick Rooks, 34.

Silento gained fame as a teenager when he recorded "Watch Me" and posted it to YouTube, a viral dance song that has been viewed more than 1.8 billion times.

On Jan. 21, police responded to reports of shots being fired at around 3.30 a local intersection. In the footage, several cars were seen fleeing the scene at high speeds along with capturing one of eight gunshots. We will continue in his efforts of treatment, but we ask in the meantime the public uplift him and his family in immediate prayer & positive energy!

Detectives have not yet detailed a motive for the shooting.

The following October, he was arrested again for speeding and reckless driving after he was caught doing 143 miles-per-hour on Georgia's Interstate 85. His most recent release was the single Swish on January 28.

Hawk eventually released his first album, Fresh Outta High School in August 2018.
