Manitowoc County Health Department COVID-19 Reports Continue to Look Promising


There are 27 patients hospitalized with 11 in critical care.

As of midnight, Monday, February 15, the HPSC has been notified of 744 confirmed cases of COVID-19.

Another COVID-19 update will be released Thursday as B.C.'s health ministry gives the latest details on cases, deaths and outbreaks in the province.

The county's 14-day incidence rate has gone up to 256.9 per 100,000 people.

The age group with the largest number of hospitalisations from Covid-19 since March 2020 is those over the age of 65, with 6,635 people admitted to hospital.

Six more people who tested positive for coronavirus in Northern Ireland have died in the last 24-hour reporting period, according to the Department of Health.

The average number cases over five days in Longford is 7 per day.

"It indicates to us that the levels we are at in the community are still of a concern... the virus is still transmitting at a very risky level across the community", he said.

Mr Reid said the news was cause for "good hope".

As of Monday, a total of 280,581 doses of Covid-19 vaccines had been administered, comprising 182,193 first doses and 98,388 second doses.

Health Minister Christine Elliott says 257 of those new cases are in Toronto, 170 are in Peel Region, and 131 are in York Region.

Meanwhile, over the last two weeks 37 children under the age of 12 have been hospitalised as a result of Covid-19. Of those, seven are in intensive care units and eight on a ventilator.
