'Jeopardy!': New Celebrities Added to Guest Host Roster

Alex Trebek hosting Jeopardy

Ken Jennings has been hosting the game show recently, and on Tuesday night Jeopardy! announced some big names as future guest hosts.

Cliffside Park's own Dr. Oz will be taking the helm at "Jeopardy!". The money donated will equal the cumulative winnings of all the contestants who compete during their hosting week.

Dr. Mehmet Oz has hosted "The Dr. Oz" show on Fox since 2009.

Anderson Cooper appeared on four separate occasions as a contestant on Celebrity Jeopardy!, and, in speaking with first-time Celebrity Jeopardy! victor Cheech Marin, Cooper admitted to being a fan of the show since high school and of being star-struck by Trebek (via CNN).

Jeopardy! has revealed the next group of hosts set to fill in for Alex Trebek, who died previous year of pancreatic cancer. The thing is: there is just something so attractive and reassuring about facts, simple straightforward facts.

The addition of Cooper, Guthrie, Dr. Oz, and Dr. Gupta comes on the heels of news that journalist Katie Couric will also serve as interim host. Presumably, each guest host will appear for a similar amount of time.

Jeopardy!'s Greatest of All Time and consulting producer Ken Jennings is now acting as host.

Jennings took to Twitter on Monday (February 1) to reveal that the idea to pay tribute to Trebek at the conclusion of every broadcast came from the top of production.

A permanent successor for Trebek has yet to be announced.
