Clare records further drop in spread of COVID-19

LATEST 48 new cases of Covid-19 in Kildare today

The state did report four additional COVID-19 deaths Monday including a 63-year old male from Fayette County, a 93-year old male from Cabell County, a 78-year old female from Wetzel County, and a 79-year old male from Wood County.

Marshall County had seven new cases for a new overall total of 5,170, Starke County had five new cases for a new overall total of 1,803 and Pulaski County had one new case for a new overall total of 999.

The new cases bring Pennsylvania's case count to to 846,078. The number of active cases have dropped each day for the past two weeks.

Some 430 cases are in Dublin, 97 in Wexford, 87 in Cork, 84 in Limerick, 76 in Galway and the remaining 473 cases are spread across all other counties. Not since November 9 (82) has the average been as low.

The Minnesota Department of Health says there were 727 new cases and two deaths Sunday, with zero deaths in the tri-county area. Butler Health System also reported one death to the state on Friday.

The decline in cases in January is a tale of two halves - from Jan. 1-15 the state reported 3,533 new cases in Westmoreland County, while from Jan. 16-31 that number dropped by almost half - 1,837 cases. Lehigh County has had 689 of them, and Northampton County has had 571.

Twelve counties are red on the COVID-19 daily alert map. This is better when compared to the country average of 1.4 percent, which means that Telangana is recording 1 death in every 200 people whereas the country average is 3 deaths for every 200 positive cases. A total of 81,419 residents have tested negative.
