Brothers Osborne's T.J. Osborne sat down with TIME magazine recently to publicly discuss his sexuality for the first time.

The 36-year-old artist, one half of the duo Brothers Osborne, came out as gay in an article published by Time on Wednesday. "But in a rural town playing a country fair?"

He admitted that he's a bit concerned about the way country music fans will react to the news and even acknowledged that some may view this as an opportunistic move.

While many other country artists before him have come out, he's now the only openly gay country artist signed to a major label.

"There are times when I think I've marginalized this part of me so that I feel better about it", he said. "Osborne Is Ready to Tell His Story", Osborne shares that he is gay, and has been out among close friends and family for years.

"He was very open and candid about it, and I was emotional, because my brother was finally able to be completely honest with me about who he was". "But is that just because they've never had the opportunity to relate to it?" "How often, in life, do we hold back parts of ourselves and wish that we didn't?"

John added, "If I had to have all my money and success erased for my brother to be truly fulfilled in life, I wouldn't even think about it". I know that it's gonna help my relationship with my fans and my family.and ultimately myself'. "But if you stand for something and it's not what they stand for, then they hate it".

'I'm very proud to put this out there.the person you know is me, and now you just know more about me, and I think that's so important in so many ways. "At this point, my happiness is more valuable than anything else I'd ever be able to achieve". Brooke Eden, who revealed she is gay in January, is signed to BBR Music Group, while Brandy Clark was previously signed to Warner Music Nashville. However, he has faith that his story will have a positive impact.

Although hitmakers like Lil Nas X, Brandi Carlile and Orville Peck have been open about their sexuality in the past, Osborne anxious his well-established footing in the genre gave not only him a lot to lose, but his brother, John, as well. "Much love." MAREN MORRIS wrote, "So proud of you".
