Apex Legends set to launch on Nintendo Switch on March 9, 2021

Apex Legends Season 8 Now Available 2

This has been a busy day for the teams at Electronic Arts and Respawn. Well, maybe not all platforms.

The announcement of the game's additional platform came all the way back in mid-June 2020 at EA Play Live. As a matter of fact, there is and Respawn offered an update on this version of the game.

Cross-platform play will be available in Apex on the Switch, so friends can play together across consoles.

The Switch version of Apex Legends will be fully caught up with its other platform counterparts.

In addition to the big announcement, Respawn Entertainment has announced that in celebration of Black History Month, the studio is giving players a Black Lives Matter (BLM) badge starting at 8 p.m. PT/11 p.m. ET today/tonight! All of the content in season 8 will be included in the Switch version at launch, and Switch players will get 30 levels of the current battle pass upgrades for free, to make up for the late start. Switch players will also be able to earn double XP (in-game achievement points) for the initial two weeks of release. And as it is elsewhere, the game will be free-to-play on Switch, with a premium "Champion Edition" available that bundles now available characters, weapons, and maps. Respawn also confirmed that the Apex Legends on Switch will include full on cross-play support and every feature of the the PC, PS and Xbox versions of the game although there's been no word yet on cross-save functionality.

Look for the Nintendo Switch version of Apex Legends to release on March 9.

Meanwhile, experienced Fuse players will be able to use his abilities to trap enemies in the flawless chokepoints, or even combo his Ultimate with a teammate's to pick up a few free kills.
