Special AirPods Pro for Chinese New Year from Apple

Apple launches new Limited Edition AirPods Pro in China for 1,999 yuan ($310)

Apple is celebrating Chinese New Year with the launch of new, limited-edition AirPods Pro in China that feature a unique emoji to honour the Year of the Ox.

Since the next year is Year of the Ox in the Chinese calendar, Apple's new AirPods Pro - noticed by 9to5Mac - have a little image of a cow on the box and engraved on the earbuds' case. This, coupled with the fact the Year of the Ox only comes around once every 12 years, means you'll have to be fairly lucky to snag this edition of the AirPods Pro.

February 12th marks the first day of Lunar New Year, with 2021 ushering in the Year of the Ox and saying farewell to the Year of the Rat. Thus, Apple makes a cute gesture for China, which it sees as one of its most important markets.

However, the sales area of this special version of AirPods Pro will not be limited to China.

Apple's AirPods Max over the ear headphones were released on December 15, and since then a growing number of owners are complaining of issues with condensation in the ear cups. However, customers are only allowed to buy two headsets per order. The Cupertino-based company launched the AirPods Max in December a year ago, that not only comes with a premium metal body but also a whopping price tag of Rs 59,900.
