Meanwhile, Naomi is on the cover of Vogue's January 2021 issue, following in the footsteps of Serena Williams, 39, as the second-only tennis star to grace the front of the prestigious fashion bible.

Having a flair for fashion, Osaka also partnered with Japanese label ADEAM and released her own capsule collection a year ago. As a longtime fashionista, the U.S. Open victor called the campaign a "dream come true" in a press release.

One of the first Black women to hold the mantle of brand ambassador for the luxury house, Osaka wears her curly hair in her natural 'fro for the SS21 campaign as a nod to her signature on-court look.

Naomi Osaka has been named a brand ambassador for Louis Vuitton. Osaka will first be seen in the Spring/Summer 2021 campaign, which will be photographed by Louis Vuitton's Director of Women's Collections Nicolas Ghesquière. It is such an honour to work with Nicolas - he's a designer I admire so much and we share a mutual love of Japanese culture and style. In Ghesquière's words: "Naomi is an exceptional woman who represents her generation and is also a role model for everyone". That collection included polos, T-shirts, sweatshirts, sport tops, shorts and accessories like fanny packs with her logo embedded alongside the shoe giant. "Her career and convictions are inspiring". Upon being made ambassador, Osaka posted a picture on Instagram, revealing the good news. Osaka had a hilarious reply and wrote, "If she wants me to move in she should just say that".
