Liverpool and Man City's differing fortunes in FA Cup highlighted

FA Cup Liverpool set to take on Manchester United in blockbuster fourth round tie

Premier League rivals United and Liverpool will face each other in the fourth round of the competition at Old Trafford, while City will take on League Two club Cheltenham away from home at the Jonny-Rocks Stadium.

As I revealed on Twitter on Monday, Arsenal are the only "big six" side they have in the FA Cup since the start of the 2017/18 season, with endless winnable fixtures handed to them.

Can you name the line-ups from Man United and Liverpool's last FA Cup clash?

League Two Crawley, who thrashed Leeds 3-0 in the third round, travel to Bournemouth.

Crawley's fourth-tier counterparts Cheltenham have, meanwhile, been rewarded for their win over Mansfield with a home tie against Premier League giants Manchester City.

United and Liverpool, who now occupy the top two spots in the Premier League, will face off for a place in the FA Cup fifth round at Old Trafford later this month (they also play each other at Anfield in the league this Sunday).

Defending champion Arsenal must travel to the victor of the third-round match between Southampton and Shrewsbury, a date for which has yet to be decided.

Chorley manager Jamie Vermiglio told BBC Sport: "That's what we really wanted, Premier League opposition, great". Swansea or Nottingham Forest lie in wait in the 5th round.

The fourth round ties will take place over the weekend of January 23, with the fifth round in the week of February 8.
