Langer suggests IPL is to blame for injury-plagued Test series

Injured Bumrah set to miss Brisbane Test | - Cricbuzz

Despite previous fears that the Gabba might be stripped of hosting rights for the fourth Test due to concerns from India about the strict quarantine measures the players would be out under, the team has now settled at its Brisbane hotel after the epic draw against Australia in the third Test. Food is coming from a nearby Indian restaurant which will be given to us on our floor.

"The team members now have the permission to move around on the floors on which the rooms have been allocated to the Indian team". However, after Ganguly and other BCCI officials got into it, the issues were resolved.

Team officials weren't happy about not having room service or house keeping with an unnamed member of the tourists' travelling party labelling the hotel as a "prison for all practical purposes" in an interview with the Times of India.

But after the BCCI took up the issue with Cricket Australia, conditions have changed.

'The board has been told that the team has been given access to all the lifts in the hotel. "It has been assured that there will be room service and housekeeping", the BCCI official said. "They are also now allowed to use the gymnasium within the hotel". "The team still don't have access to the swimming pool in the hotel although we are hoping that the access will be provided permission for this soon", the source added.

It is understood that the Indian team is not keen on risking Bumrah who has an abdominal strain, which could also be a tear.

"The players are exhausted and have retired to their rooms". But they would like to go out for a stroll later in the day.

The series is now tied at one-all, after India managed to hold on and salvage a back-against-the-wall draw against the hosts at the SCG on Monday.

They have lost experienced fast bowlers Mohammed Shami and Umesh Yadav, along with batsman KL Rahul, while allrounder Ravindra Jadeja is the latest to be ruled out with a dislocated thumb.

However, going into the final Test, the visitors have plenty of injury worries.

India have had a spate of injuries since the IPL and also in the current Australia series.

"Australian opener Will Pucovski suffered a shoulder subluxation injury while diving in the field on day five of the third Vodafone Test at the SCG yesterday", the statement said.

"We suffered through it during the white-ball series and (India) through the Test series".
